Palm Beach real estate broker Lawrence Moens (see many of his listing on the Featured Properties section on our home page) knows art. He’s a noted collector, and so it was with a seasoned eye that he encouraged his 80-year-old father to pick up a brush and start painting.
That was four years ago, and Armand Moens just closed a 21-work show at Arcature Fine Art at 318 Worth Avenue. His style, influenced by Jackson Pollock and other contemporary artists, relies heavily on brilliant colors and complex textures. (Example? "Spain," this red-on-red acrylic on canvas.)
His son is pleased. “He’s powerful and passionate with a brush or palette knife,” Lawrence Moens told the Shiny Sheet. “You can see how passionate he is.”
